Academic Night  – PTA supported

This is a fun learning-filled night for Glen Haven families with reading games, math puzzles, games, and other projects as well as and successful strategies to help children becoming life-long readers. Students can come in their pajamas and will spend the rest of the evening enjoying fun activities. The whole family can participate in hands-on activities that make math and reading fun.  All students, adults, siblings attending will get to choose a book from the book giveaway. Guests also have a chance to win reading prizes. PTA helps with preparations and set-up for the night as well as sorting donated books and preparations for the night.

Fall Festival and Classroom Party – PTA supported

Students take part in a costume parade, followed by a fall party in each classroom. Parents are invited to come and watch the parade and join the party. PTA creates and distributes the flyer.

International Night – Glen Haven United Nations – PTA supported

Teachers and staff create a fun evening that celebrates our school’s diversity with a show and a potluck dinner. On stage, there is live entertainment, featuring Glen Haven students, teachers, and families sharing a part of their heritage – from Paraguayan and Indian folk dancers to Zumba and Salsa performances.  A highlight is the kids fashion show celebrating countries and cultures represented in the Glen Haven Elementary School community. Guests are encouraged to come in traditional clothes. Everyone in the community is invited to attend. The PTA helps to buy drinks and food for the event.

Staff Appreciation Luncheon – PTA sponsored

We show our staff how much we appreciate them and their dedication to our children by treating them to three wonderful meals throughout the year. It’s a great way to get to know the staff and to say “thank you for all you do for our children”.

Valentine’s Day Party – PTA supported

Each class will have their own party. PTA creates and distributes the flyer.

Spring Carnival – PTA sponsored

This is a great afternoon of family fun for everyone to come out and meet with teachers, friends, and neighbors over food, moon bounces, games and more. It is usually held in May.

STEM Day – PTA supported

This interactive day will provide hands-on activities for our children. Students will rotate through four classrooms to learn about science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM). High school students and teachers will do fun grade specific activities with our kids to get students excited about learning in those areas. This event takes place in April.

Assemblies – PTA sponsored

We organize several performances per year to provide all students an opportunity to experience free quality arts shows.
