Are you collecting Box Tops? Do you know what a box top is? Glen Haven participates in Box Tops for Education – a program that provides the PTA with $ for each box top collected. It’s easy, buy a product that participates in the program (there are a lot -Ziploc bags; Kleenex tissues; Cheerios; Totinos pizza rolls) and remember to collect the box top before throwing out the packaging. You’ll know if a company participates because you’ll see a “Box Top$ for Education logo” on the packaging. Send your box tops collection into the school, and the school gets $. Pretty simple way to help out our students!

Weekly Scoop for Sept. 7, 2015

Hope everyone had a great first week of school and a relaxing Labor Day!

Get Involved in the PTA! We need involved parents to run the PTA and provide successful serices to our children, teachers and school. Plus, it’s fun to connect with other parents and get to know teachers in the school. Added bonus: when families are involved in their children’s learning both at home and at school, their children do better in school. The Good News is that it’s easy to volunteer on your own time. So grab a friend and contact Doug about getting involved.

Let’s Get Social! Are you on Facebook? So are we! Like our Facebook page. (Did you know that Walter Reed donated school supplies to Glen Haven? Check out the pics!) Are you on Twitter? So are we! (And so is the school!) Follow the PTA at @glenhavenpta, follow the school at @GlenHavenES and follow Dr. Ennis at @Principal_Ennis. (you can follow me @curlygh!)

After School Activities! The PTA organizes after-school activities for our students. The classes run from 4-5, with students going directly to their activity from their classroom. If your child is in Bright Eyes, they will go directly there after the class has ended. New This Year: If 5 SAS students want to participate, the program will run a bus to and from Glen Haven.
